DrPlayer is a full client for Music Player Daemon, the proven Unix playback daemon. Run MPD locally to drive your own DAC, or point DrPlayer at a remote MPD on a headless audio server and use it as a control surface over your network.

  • LOCAL Plug a DAC into your Mac. DrPlayer drives local MPD with CoreAudio output, automatic sample rate matching and DSD over PCM.
  • REMOTE Run MPD on a Raspberry Pi, moOde, Volumio or your own headless box. DrPlayer controls it over the network and keeps the full metadata experience — mount the library via NFS/SMB for cover art, DR and waveforms.
  • AUTO Auto-detects your mpd.conf on first launch, generates one if missing, and lets you manage outputs and mixer settings without leaving the app.
